The APC kernel routine runs at APC_LEVEL, captures the thread’s stack, and then analyzes each return address against the list of loaded modules. A return address pointing outside any loaded module is a strong indicator of injected code on the stack, which suggests the thread is currently executing injected code or returned from it.
